I love Subaru in general but if you think an STI is a better track car than a Vette than you got problems, STI's are true rally cars and one of the best allround vehicle's, def not the best on the track.

umm, a C6 corvette ZO6 is in the top ten stock cars for lap times around the nurburgring nordschleife.

You're obviously a fan of japanese sports cars, which is fine, but you've shown your ignorance by thinking a mustang or corvette cannot be built to keep up with or beat a japanese car around a road course. The new generation of american sports cars can do more than go fast in a straight line (except the pathetic mustang GT500 pig). An STi has no chance of keeping up with a new ZO6... and this is coming from a wrx owner.

This video shows why wankers who laugh at "ricers" are only advertising their ignorance. This guy in a WRX will eat any Mustang (and any Corvette) over any road that has corners (you'll have to imagine how flaccid they'd look wallowing in the dust of a Skyline GTR - you don't even SEE the best Jap cars). But.....if you can't drive, you'll be faster in the Corvette!

You'll NEVER learn to drive, if you only drive between traffic lights. And if you don't "heel-and-toe" (or brake with the left foot), you can't even conceive what 10/10ths driving is.

Anyone who doesn't appreciate the NECESSITY to "heel-and-toe" doesn't understand the difference between 8/10ths and 10/10ths driving. Watch any WRC video - these drivers are not magicians. They simply understand that to be in control ALL the way through a corner you MUST either brake with the left foot OR "heel-and-toe".

1/4 mile drag is NOT "street-racing", dudes. The skills involved are a SMALL part of what "driving" means. If you don't understand, watch some WRC rallying. That's DRIVING.

It was a Subaru. You can tell from the pedals and gauges. Hard to tell if it was a WRX or STi though.

To sum it up:
Heel Toe: Used while braking to down shift and keep the rpms where you want them, also prevents the drive wheels from chirping/locking due t o compression braking while in a turn.
Heres how:
brake with right f oot, clutch with left, reach over and blip throttle with right foot whle s till on brake, down shift with hand, release clutch, release brake, press gas

Double clutching: used on trucks thant dont have syncros to mat ch the engines rpm with that of the trann fr an upshift, prevents grinding
press clutch, shift to neutral and release clutch, press clutch rev en gine shift to next gear, your clutching twice per shift hence a double clu tch.

powershifting: floor gas shift, when at redline press clutch a nd shift to next gear, leaving the gas pedal down the whole time.

speed shifting: same as above except you are at 1/2 throttle during the ac tual shift.

I disagree, I have a new C6 and if I downshift w/o rev matching the rear ti res chirp from compression braking, thats dangerous if your on turns.
