No 36bd9fbd a pro driver aka evan smith ran a 12.49 with the 03 cobra. A waterhead in a 03 cobra can run a 12.9. Actually joe735 the GT500 is live axle and has been since 2007.

36bd9fbd..u tellin me that a professional driver can only get to 60 in 5.2 and the quarter in 14.2 but an average day to day driver can run a stock gt mustang 13.5 in the quarter and a 4.9 to a 5 flat to 60. thats not 2 professional.

Pretty soon this guy named Evan Smith will get a hold of the new mustang gt and I'm pretty sure he'll get it to run close to 13.20. Motor trend got it to run 13.40 and they're not really great drivers. Also I don't know where people keep getting their times but the 03 cobra's were capable of hitting 12.3's depending on who's driving . People routinely run 12.6's and better stock disregard the 12.8 time thats posted on the internet. Also people might want to take into account that the gt500 is geared lower than the 03 cobra from the factory which would make it run slower quartermile for the power. Moreover the only automatic gt's that run 15's stock from the factory were the old 1994-95 5.0's.

actually no 36bd9fbd the new stang doesn't run low 14's in the quarter.... motortrend ran a 13.5 and those guys aren't that good at driving either IMO. i've seen mutiple mags get 4.9 0-60's. i don't know where your getting 5.4 from thats just stupid. these must be the times of that ricer lexus you drive.

But I do agree, the SS is supposed to be the top of the line!!!! The 556hp superchaged Z28 is never going to happen so no worries...... The GT500 must needs to go on a diet. This damn car is slower then the 2003-2004 terminator cobras that were 3590 lbs and 390 bhp, ran 12.9 at 112 from a pro magazine driver. Obviously ultimate hp will win the race... 12.7 @ 118 says alot about top end hp.. that 0-60 of 4.7 says alot about no grip.
