The 600hp Viper SRT10 costs only 85k... The Corvette Zr1 is going to cost over 100k, and it will need a supercharger to make 650 hp. Put that same S/C on the Viper and you have closer to 800HP. Plus the 2008 SRT10-ACR is going to kill any production corvette ever made. A 600+HP scalpel on a racetrack. Mopar felt caught off guard by the C6Z06, I don't think they are going to be one-upped.. Vipers have historically been superior to Vettes in just about any performance category, the latest Z06 was really the first vette to be in the same neighborhood as Vipers.

A Viper and a Z06.The Viper will lose,not by much,but it will.The Z06 is a more balanced sports car.Lighter,too.I know that new Viper has 600hp,but the newer Z06,or Blue Devil,or SS,or whatever, will have at least 650 and is still a lighter car.Sorry guys,the Vette is not called America's sports car for nothing.Too much history,too many wins in racing,you name it.No other American car can even come close to that heritage.And it continues to this day.
