As to my observations: Please don't get me wrong; I love American cars as I'm a petrol head, the American muscle cars are a thing of beauty and the soundtrack of a V8 or V10 is amazing! I love the old Chargers,Challengers, 'cudas,Roadrunners and Mustangs and I would love to own one. The Vipers are awesome and can be fettled to produce a great track car, but 'out-of-the-box' they are underbraked and not the best handling of the sports cars out there! Sorry...fact of life!

Notice how: 1. When American cars get beat by any other 'Import' they bleat on about unfairness...missed gears or off-boost (if turbo-ed as in the case of certain blown Vipers etc) or that some other mechanical issue was to blame (Watch 'Pinks' on TV for examples of whinging when they loose).
2. When American cars loose in Eorpean articles then the article or footage 'must' be staged and yet certain American car magazines test their domestic products against imports in back-to-back comparisons and that we Europeans or Japanese must accept that this was a 'fair' test if the US contingent wins?
3. Notice that the Z4 also moves over on the track taking a wide line for a right hander allowing the Viper through (that's because the Vipersss quicker maaan I hear some of you shout). NO, THE REASON THAT BOTH CARS TAKE THE OUTSIDE/INSIDE LINE IS THAT THE FOLLOWING CAR HAS 'PRESENTED' ITSELF AND IT IS ETIQUETTE TO ALLOW THE FOLLOWING CAR TO TAKE THE INSIDE LINE FOLLOWING RACING RULES AND ALSO, THAT BOTH CARS ARE PROBABLY LOANERS AND NEED TO BE RETURNED RELATIVELY UN-SCATHED AND SO CLOSE RACING/RUBBING WAS NOT POSSIBLE .
4.The Ariel Atom was featured in another section on the full version of this vid as it evaded an old Interceptor police car within two blocks.
The purpose of the segment was to show that chassis,brakes,feel,steering and weight play a very important part in making a 'fast car' around a circuit not just brute power. The rest of this one hour vid explains how America has created and engineered some of the most awe-inspiring structures/machines that this planet has seen, but they do not apply this expertise into making more driver focussed and lighter cars with less power and more attention paid to the chassis.
There was also a comparison between a Lotus Elise with 190 bhp and 1.8 litre engine against a 4.6 litre Rousch Mustang on the same track...Lotus won. Light weight ,good brakes and a revvy engine win on circuits with 'bends' everytime!

The viper is not a good sports car face the facts. So what if it has fast accel to 60 viper is a piece of dodge $h!t. They should stick to trucks. if you ever hear reviews of people who own them you would change your mind as well. It cant turn for $h!t the engine overheats many people complained about heat from the engine passing throught the A/c vents right in their face. the only thing that dodge did was put a truck engine in a light body yep thats great engeneering for ya.

HRC don't be stupid. The viper puts its' power down better than any other exotic in its' class. From a 10mph roll a z06 or f430 would only see the vipers tail lights for the whole race

Car and drivers lap times for both of these cars around VIR tell a very different story. The viper is many many seconds ahead of the z4m on that course. And that course is FAR more respected then topgears test track could ever be.

Yeah, the race was obviously fixed. During every turn, the viper would just drift to the outside and slow down. What is that all about? and on the last straight away, why didn't the viper blow the doors off the Z4 like it did in the beginning of the race?
