This review was done in California on 91 Octane, I dyno'd at 287.31WHP and 276.12 TQ http://photos-231.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v182/186/21/771427231/n771427231_354483_239.jpg

Disappointing. I think my 2003 SRT-4 not only looks better, but is probably faster too. First, the Caliber promised 300HP, now it's 285 at the crank and dynos at 260 at the wheels. Not bad, but the car should be much faster than it is to make up for it's looks. I will admit, the car looks a lot better in black or silver than the putrid maroon we always see pics of.

According to the magazines, this car can do 0-60 in the low 6s and the quarter in the low-mid 14s, whereas the Neon-based SRT-4 could pull high 13s with 0-60 in the mid 5s, despite the 55 HP difference (although stock SRT-4s have been dyno'd at 225-235 WHP and the Caliber weighs 200-300 lbs. more).

I really hoped Dodge would go for improved performance and the Caliber SRT would pull low-mid 13s, especially since they didn't decide to make a better looking car, but no such luck. Oh well. At least they gave it 19 inch rims and a 6-speed. I have to say the Mazdaspeed 6 looks a lot better.

As for limited slip, it came on 2004-2006 models, just not on 03s (like mine). I don't really miss it to be honest but to each his own.

another kids car. They double the power numbers with a turbo lie on the dyno, then get its butt kicked in the real world. And if it does win, you'll be lucky to see 100k miles before the wobbling inline woes prevail again with a disaster oh so common since these weord engineering pursuits with transverse fours began. What was that about a lonely country road review? I'd rather that anyday.. maybe in a 20 year old subaru. Can't wait to hear the horrifying resonance of retarded inline blasting exhaust systems.Pfft.
