i seriously think that the ls7 with dohc heads would be a new breed of beast.its already powerful but imagine the high reving abilitys of a cammer engine mixed with the displacement of a pushrod.and not to forget the tuning issue.not that im hating but id like to see it done.

ZR1 is 2009. ZR-1 is 90-95. GM didn't put the dash there on purpose for the new ZR1

Oh come on. It was a great engine, but it's not better then today's LS motors. More sophisticated yes but not better. It got worse MPG, doesn't make the power, is harder to work on, and takes more dollar per horsepower. Don't get me wrong, I love the LT5 it spectacular, but not better.

the engine wasnt for the average back yard mechanic though. thats why I love the traditional chevy small block.

to bad gm didnt keep them going. their a better design than todays ls series engines.they rev more freely and can be tuned per cam precisely

I got to test drive 1 of the first ZR1s that was a GM test car back before the were released to the public in 1989. It was a pretty cool ride.
