well to all that are curious about this video, the vehicle lost traction at 217 miles an hour, due to class restrictions on areodynamics, the car was developed to do 300 mph.I previously worked for Racing beat the company that built and raced this vehicle, i have heard the story from the man aboard, the driver Jim Mederer, long time rotary developer, said the salt conditions on that day of speed week were the worst of all of speed week, the car was aproaching 220 mph and the salt broke loose from underneath the car due to the amount of downforce, all the damage that the car withstood was basically a new shell, all structural intergrity of the car wias intact and the car or back in black as it was dubbed the next year at bonnavile set the classrecord and still holds it to this day and to this day is the worlds fastest RX7
