I'm guessing it's a 292 c.i. which is was an available heavy-duty choice over the 250 c.i. inline six for several years. The 292 was produced from 1963-1990. One of my customers has a 1971 Chevy C10 (1/2 ton) 3 on the tree and his stock target-master 292 runs strong. If you couldn't hear the engine, you would think it had a V-8 in it.
