Oh yea also here in Dayton OH this guy has a 454 Chevette if any here in from the area and been to KilKare Dragway they probably seen it,Oh and any of you want a very cheap but fast hot rod this was my recipe. A S-10 with just a stock 305.Jegs sales mounts that let the v8 bolt to the stock mounts,use a 4.3 raditor and since I said cheap instead of saying headders I'll tell you 80s camaro manifolds work perfit.Mounts are $60-$80. For a little under $600 they sale the compleat kit which is mounts headders duel exhause and a special oilpan that you don't need at all cause the stock pand fit just fine

Has nothing to do with this but we had a 80 Chevette and a bad blizzard with about 3 feet of snow and we was passing stuck 4x4s.I don't care what anyone says they are good,Pintos to except the gastank thing.How many other 21 year old are going to say they like Chevettes.I was about 17 when i had that one I liked telling people "oh I drove my vette over its outfront if you don't believe me" lol

chevettes have more of a european bloodline than japanese, after all it came rwd, it was very similar to the vega.

Now thats the way to do it. Small, lightweight car, Lots of cubic inches. Great power to weight ratio. Sounded pretty healthy too. Lets see....... .. Chevette around 1700-2000 pounds curb weight, and small block Chevy wit h about 350 to 400+ HP(the way the cam sounded) Sounds like an inexpensive and FUN combo! Good Job! TJ & the FrankenVega

I bet that is fun to drive. I always wanted a v8 Chevette, but never had th e urge to start cutting on one. I bought a brand new Chevette in 1986, and the second day I owned it I was measuring it for a v8 swap, but looked li ke too much cutting for me. I ended up building a v8 Vega instead, which I have 2 videos of on this site. ( it's primered gray ) if you happen to ru n across it.
