v8 diesel in the caddy..facing non-transverse this time. In an 81 eldoroda sized car..yeah. That would be nice, and much like a cure for the ailing versions they have had...such as the 1981 eldorado with a transverse diesel (terrible, all but the luxury)

Nope, I agree with several people, the smaller engines (i.e. turbo 4, etc.) should be OPTIONS, not standard, and they should also implement the cylinder de-activation system from other GM technology....no downsizing necessary, costs will be less because there will be little to no re-designing, and fuel mileage may actually increase without f#$king up horsepower ratings...

Hell no. You buy a Caddi becouse its big. I mean big motor and a trunk, big enough to stuff all the dead hookers you want.

Great show, I'm gonna have to start watching these videos more often! As for Cadillac, I think they could still sell very easily without the V8's.... If instead they used a Direct-Injected turbo V6 and/or a Direct Injected turbo 4-cylinder. I don't think the typical person who buys a Caddy, would want to deal with everything that comes with owning a diesel (that diesel smell, having to wait forever for heat to come on, having to plug in an engine block heater, etc.) If they could manage to extend the platform they used for the XLR to make it a 4 seater, or even a 2 2, with a turbo direct-injected V6 and a manual 6-speed OR auto 6-speed... That didn't cost $100,000... I'm sure it would be one of the best selling sports-luxury coupes on the market.
