Honda F1 engines never made 1000hp.... the most powerfull V10 from that tim e were from BMW with Ferrari as close second... Honda was driving around i n the mid field and are not abel to get together their work to run proper. Now in the V8 area they do a little bit better...but are still far away f rom the top. In F1 Honda plays no rule...they were only good as as they ha d Senna as their driver.

Before the change in engine regulations the old v10's topped out at 19000 o dd rpms and produced around 1000hp (well the hondas did neways) now with t he smaller v8's they rev up to 20,000 but during the races no more than 19 ,500 rpms are used, primarilty because they now have to last 2 race weeken ds. All the more impressive really, is that we dont see more blow ups. Thi s vid is at least 6-7 years old now back when maclaren had the fastest car . the engines had a distinct wail to them from the others, you knew when o ne had gone by!
