More than likely, even if he got on it before 4th gear, he would not have had any traction. That is a problem with "street" cars that make HUGE power #s. Even on slicks, that Supra would have lit the tires up all the way thru 4th. Nice run though!

Why are we comparing this supra to the Hennessy Viper and the Lingenfelter Corvette? They are in a whole diffrent class. The supra in this video has over a thousand horsepower, and so does the viper, and the vette. But power isn't the only factor when it comes to extremely fast street cars. Lets get one thing strait: if you have any car with 1000+ horsepower, and can go faster than 200 mph, you have a fast car. But for most people, a car of those specs is way out of reach financially, unless it's a supra. Hennessy Vipers cost over 200 thousand dallars, while the supra in this video is selling on ebay for $64,995.00 obo. Now consider engine size and complication. The Hennessy viper's engine is an 8.3 liter V10 with 2 turbos. The supra's is a 3.0 liter inline 6 with one turbo. An engine less than half the size, 4 less cylinders, and one less turbo puts out as much, if not more than the V10. Also, the viper started out with 500 horsepower, and ended up around 1,000 hp. The total engine power doubled. The supra started out with 300 horsepower, and ended up with 1,359 hp. Thats more than 4 times the original horsepower. If I was given a Hennessy Viper, I would sell it and buy that supra, just because I can get better performance, and have tons of cash left in my pocket. I have nothing against vipers, or corvettes. In fact, I think they are awsome cars. I just get a kick out of the fact that i can get a supra with 1000+ hp for about the same price as a new viper or z06 vette. This car is in a class of its own, and its barely worthy of a race between the cars it is so frequently compared to. GOD DAMN that car sounds good! I want a supra just for the sound. its amazing that the car can run so smooth at those power levels. that is the result of the fine art of turbocharging: the ultimate engine upgrade.
