r8 has the 4.2 fsi, and the v10 fsi. in the states. the TDI is not avaiable yet.

i think audi is adding just a little more to then just a gallardo's V10 and that little something is a twin-turbo system from what Ive heard it should be pushing just over 700hp

i wasnt talking to you 245859...i was asking ksingh, where he was getting the V10 from...besides i believe that their tdi will be better than the v10 gallardo engine, because audi really perfects when it comes to diesel engines

where am i getting the v10 from? maybe from the news audi is spreading since the presentation of the r8. btw, both cars the v10 and the tdi v12 are going to be produced

There have been rumors that the "ultimate" R8 is supposed to be powered by the gallardo's V10, or a similarly designed V10. Although, considering Audi's fondness of Turbodiesel V12's, it would be very interesting to see them drop this into the R8. It'd be a freakin' torque monster.

yup its still powered by the 4.2 FSI V8 engine, and the r10 tdi was powered by a V12, dont know where you're getting the V10 from???

Well the current R8 is powered by the V10 and as far as I know it will continue to be the primary powerplant but this TDI is a concept to show where the next generation supercar could go.
