If i may chime in.

The throttle on that kind of bikes is pretty twitchy, very easy to get wrong if you're not used to it. That was deffinately below a quarter of a twist.

I'd say that's kind of a big bike to learn on. It's also obviously a stuntbike, believe me, it probably encounters the asphalt on regular basis.

For everyone calling the "instructor" an asshole:
Yeah he probably should have explained it better and let the guy get a feel for the throttle first. But on the other hand he was very cool about the whole thing and checked on the guy first, he didn't even care for the bike until he saw his friend was OK. I think that's way more important.

hahaha almost did this my first time on a dirt bike. but i luckily had the sense to grab the clutch when the front wheel lifted. for now i just stick to quads.
