I have to disagree that a 5spd is better than a 6spd for everything; it isn't. I much prefer the 6spd for autox and road racing than the 5 because I can easily stay in my powerband under pretty much any situation. The gears sound great though. :)

Yes it was a cold start-up on a cold day. Temp ranges are fine after a couple minutes of driving. Thanks for the heads up though.

Yeah, with an exhaust of any kind its not quite as noticeable. Alot of people like the sound. Some, who don't know cars very well, believe its supercharged. lol. You will find a 6mt foralmost the same price as this PPG set. And this 5mt ppg set is stronger than a 6mt factory. And with less gears to shift through you get much better track times no matter what your hobby. drag, auto X, anything. If you want more info check out NASIOC.com and do a search. It "THE best" gear set you can buy. And it's not more expensive than a stock replaced tranny (if you ripped through the gear teeth as i did) or bough a 6mt used. PS - Unless you plan on makin' your impreza a full race car I wouldn't get a dogbox. Its not very streetable and it is much louder. When I cruise in 3-5th gear it is quite as can be. Nice sound BUT was that a cold startup? i saw the temp gauge and we'll it looked cold to me. look for a engine wear/ engine temp chart on the net

Thank you for posting this i've been looking for a vid like this for a while, i heard the whine isn't as bad when you have a catback, but those are syncro right??? I wanna either get this, dogbox, or STI 6 speed.
