There was a show on speed where they did a dyno comparison of all the big block muscle csr engines of the past. The 426 built with stock internals, exactly as it came from Mopar put out over 800 horsepower.

Hemi is a legend and the only engine that could compete with it on the street back then was the 427 copo and yenko. TransAmGTA- i believe your talking about the newer Hemi's, my friend has a bolt on LS1 in his trans am and roll raced a new charger with the 6.1 from 60-130 it was dead even. The LSX is good because you can make it as large as you want and is a very good block. However you can take a 426 hemi and stroke/bore it and get just the same amount of horsepower.

What ever thats why they took them out of nascar because no one could compete with them and i guess that is why all the top fuel and funnycars run then is because they are so weak time to wake up gta. They don't even turn on till they hit 5 grand
