Where is this dyno at?

new stangs just as slow as the old one just looks better... Seen a an ls2 gto with long tubes and true duals walk one of the new supercharged shelby mustangs at the track and the shelby even had drag radials gto was on stockers...

That car is plain out slow. Not even 300 RWHP to the ground. Thats a Ford for sure.

LS1 puts out 345hp from factory, GM did underate them. A lot of LS1s put down 310+whp on the dyno stock. Camaro SS has been known to run high 12s stock on street tires. Not sayin this applies to all of them, drivers, temp, track cond., etc etc, make a difference. You can go to GM goodwrench and buy an LS1 that is rated at 350CrankHp. What a lot of people dont realize is that LS1 fitted vehicles also came with factory perfomance options from SLP, mine came with exhaust and a lid thats good for approx 30+hp. Add a K&N and port the maf sensor brackets and you have a good 320+whp. LS1s love modifications, and reward their owners richly.

ok not here to get in this pissing match but sorry GT owners, you STILL can't beat a LS1 f-body, well not stock for stock at least... You can probably run door to door with a LS1 GTO(because of the weight) but then again the LS2 GTO will outrun you(stock for stock)... New GTs are quick, don't get me wrong, however GM UNDERATED the LS1, they say 310hp yet they are putting down over 300rwhp BONE STOCK and have around 320 ft.-lbs, now add in the fact they are a few hundred pounds LIGHTER than your mustang, and have a 6-speed(as opposed to a 5 speed), it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math on that... Either get some mods and hope the LS1 doesn't(once again you CAN'T compete with a LS1 mod for mod, those cars are beasts once you start your mod bug)... If you want to be a Ls1 killer, your best bet is to invest in a boosted modular 4.6L...

And PLEASE don't forget the fact that the Mustang's engine is makin those 300 ponies from the factory on 87 OCTANE FUEL!

you can put a KB on a GT and put up comparable numbers. I agree the 5.0 was and is an awesome engine. You can still buy many variations of the 5.0 in crate engines from Ford. Thats probably the reason it has been rumored they are gonna bring back the Boss 302 in a year or so...as the Mustang is due another face lift around 2008...most likely to up the horses etc for the Camaro comeback. One thing you Chevy lovers have to remember though, just like someone said above. Ford is making 300 horses on a bone stock, N/A, 4.6 L...Chevy uses a big ass 5.7 liter to only eek out 10 more horses...wtf? That means that the chevy engine is roughly 30% bigger and only manages 10 more horses. Ford has nothing to be ashamed of in my mind for having a much smaller engine and producing comparable numbers.

I dont dislike mustangs, i dislike NEW mustangs. the "box" 5.0 were baddass. The 03 cobra KB are awsome, and i was actually looking into getting one.
