They did not tell me was wrong, i did smell clutch on 2 of the 7 runs,But i have it back fully redone and tested.

Just curious, what was wrong with it? Looks like alot of clutch/band material and a backed out valvebody bolt that make have caused a presure leak.

TCI called me today and said they are going to repair my transmission and replace my trans fluid, The only cost to me is the shipping charge to get the transmission to them. I will have the 79 stang back running soon

maybe 350hp to 375hp have not had it on a dyno, 86 HO 302 was rated at 200hp

When i was getting al the parts to build the car i was thinking the C4 would be best, after i get the one i have on it's way to TCI back i am giong to do the same thing with it and if it don't hold up i will go to a different one, Thanks

should have maybe tried a powerglide man, htey have been known to handle upwards of 2000 horseys and they are both cheap to build and very reliable. Build it, race it, break it, fix it, repeat.

Thanks 69Chevelle454, When they send me, i hope a new one i am giong to do the same thing with it and if it don't hold up i will try to get a refund if i can and if i cant i will sell it after i get it fixed or replaced and get something different,,Again Thanks

Sucks bud, those arent the greatest of tranny's especially for racing. Racing is very hard on a transmission but again sucks man.
