OK, we know that people want to get sick rims. But seriously, renting them? That's really, really stupid.

The rotary was banned in endurance races by the FIA, not for being too powerful, but for being too reliable! Because there are only 5 moving parts on that engine, its not going to spin a bearing, throw a rod, shatter a piston, or float a valve (doesn't have any), and even if it overheats, it will still run due to the casting and metals used in the rotor housing. the rotary is on Ward's greatest engines of all time list for a reason.

the mazda 787B is the bad boy in LeMans history.
1 year, 1 win, then outlawed for life !!!!
the funniest thing is that after the race, they teared down the engine to look at its internals. SUPRISED, the engine couldve last another 24 hours race. The engine actually redone after over 50 hours of test driving.
no piston engines from LeMans couldve been near this.
-I think it's funny piston guys call our motors "inferior", yet they have to make special rules to class our engine size.

over 6000rpm is where the torque comes, and the horsepower piles up :p

good point the z06 is insane actually its a beautiful thing. honda got sum new stuff coming out soon well actually not for a few years but its there ne version of the nsx with a longer wheel base and a v10 engine yea v10 thats gonna be insane. but the z06's are great mazda made a bad choice with the new well newish rx8. no power no torque in that thing. and u also have to remember the corvette has been around for what over 50years lol thats a s**t load of r&d if it couldnt keep up or perform that would be sad

true true but rotaries arent torquey at all... and torque can really improve the times of crap drivers. gm and ford were behind the times back then. the zr1 was a great car with tons of power but japan just had everything else on lock down... now its the other way around it seems with the z06.

yea but u still forgot to mention the fact that it has a near perfect 50 50 weight distribution. i guess u just left that out right? powerful or not with that weight balance its gonna blow nething away on an endurance race like that. lol its why the 3rd gen rxy were beating all the corvettes and everything. the vettes had them on the straight away but the second turns came into play the mazdas were all over the vettes. and lets not forget about the power to weight ratio either i dont remember the exact specs but it was above all the others
