take away 8 seconds at the beginning and stop it at 8min 30sec subtract the 8 sec from 8min 30sec and he clearly ran a 8min22sec laptime line to line. Thats dam fast for that class.

8:32,97min ...don´t get that number wrong this is the time for the 24h endurance race lap... that is the Nordschleife (20.3km) PLUS the F1 GP track (5km) making each lap nearly 16miles long..the normal Nordschleife is ~13miles. For that he needed ~ 7:05min ...that is pretty impressive for a car close to stock.
to compare the BMW perfromance some other 2004 24h race qualyfication times...

No the M3 GTR race car has a V8. This is nothing like the road car.

The m3 GTR has an 3L or 3.2L 6 cylinder engine not a v8

the new type M3 (2007 model) has a v8
