So what caused the rod to snap in the first place? knock? over rev? or just to much power for the stock rods?

Screw that. Boost the compression of the pistons a little bit, stroke that bitch, and spit methanol in it and still turn up the boost. Bang! Power, displacement, and a much larger tuning window than pump gas; 600-800hp all day long.

put lower cumpression pistons and stronger cranks in it then turn that boost up with a bigger turbo
