1989 TTA's used the GNX motor not the stock Grand National motor btw. It was purposely rated low on the hp for insurance reasons. Grand Nat's were quick in their day however beatable. All you had to do was run one back to back to beat it as they would over heat after the first run.

Grand Nationals didn't run high 13's, they ran about 14.2-14.4 bone stock. My bone stock LT1 95 Z28 went 13.86 and I have the time slips to prove it. My cousins Stock LT1 95 Formula beat a stock 87 GN twice. This TA was not stock. If it were bone stock the LT1 would win by about a half a car, a close race, this was not even close.

No, the Grand National...a heavier car...ran high 13's stock. The TTA should have been about the same if not faster. The TTA motor doesnt need much to be ALOT faster than an LT1.

The turbo must have given it the BOOST it needed to get ahead a car length and keep it .... sweet ride!!! ---

The TTA must have had some mods done to it. Stock, it dynos about the same as an LT1 - both have awesome broad, flat torque curves, both make about 250rwhp, and both run the quarter in 14.1s.
