I think they do have a mod for that. The Porsche 917 kit cars(Laser 917) sometimes run on VW chassis and the people slap a V8 into the back of it. In the back, right before the body starts to slope back down there is a cross member and it makes kind of like a roll bar shape. You stick the V8 in there and get yourself a Porsche transaxle, unless the VW tranny would work But I don't think so since the tranny would be facing the other way.

i'll agree with 5thgearpinned, a solid type one flat four would do just as well if not better, and be alot more usable. i'd about say my 2110 turbo would spank it, but what do i know? 0-100 in 8 seconds is pretty good if you ask me.

i got the video a while ago, the people that owned it said it has done 9 second runs and been kicked out of a few drag strips for not having enough safety equipment.

Know what's pretty sad, is you could slap a 2332cc and a 100 shot and be just as fast as that is with that burly ass motor in there. Losing all that power through that drivetrain. Bet it loud as hell driving that thing around though.
