To the guy who said he shortshifted, you have to look at the torque curve. I mean, maybe he did, but I know in my Mach I run first to 6800, second to 6500-6700, and I shift from third to fourth at 5500. Because that drops the revs to 4200 rpms each shift which is the peak of my torque curve and keeps it in the most optimum area of my power band. No need to wind it out of the motor makes more torque that hp, you gotta make the best use of what power is there.

The auto is faster, but the cam #s have not changed much, I had two cams (78) and a trans am (84) nova 1970, I guess it is the retro styling that is a grabber, not too impresive stock though.
