If "re-engineered" includes hiring Teksid to cast Ford 4.6L Mod Motor block with the Koenigsegg logo instead of a Ford oval on the side and stuffing the Mod Motor block with aftermarket internals but still using Ford heads and valvetrain setup, then yes, Koenigsegg "re-engineered" the engine.

OTOH, every aftermarket engine builder on the planet "re-engineers" the Modulars when they rebuild them with better parts by these standards of "re-engineering".

People need to accept the fact that Koenigsegg uses Mod Motors in their cars and there is NOTHING wrong with that. A F/I 4V Mod Motor is one of the baddest, strongest engines on the planet. Face the facts.

They new engine is still based on the Ford 4.6 DOHC, they just re engineered completely with all their own (best) parts.

If ford engines are so great...how come the Ford GT is so slow? ;)

I bet that it wouldn't because of aerodynamics.

I will bet you ANYTHING that the "Koenigsegg" engine retains the same basic desgin as the Ford it is/was based on. I bet that the oiling sys is the same, cooling, etc, etc. The only differences are probably upstairs in the heads.
