people don't realize what 600-700lbs of weight is. Go to the gym and dead lift 700lbs, Im a bodybuilder, I know what dead lifting 700lbs is. Now throw that 700lbs in a car and see what happens.

gt500 is was too heavy to compete against it's classmate the z06..and the ford gt was built to beat the corvette.. it did..until the z06 came along...the zr-1 and the acr viper are in a class of their own.(both slightly different of course but closest thing they have) ford has nothing on the zr-1 and acr from the factory..even the supersnake wont take a zr-1 (look at power to weight and the chargers they're using) ford..you're good, and you make one hell of an aftermarket...(look at a jegs or summit 5.0 section, it's a fricken 1/3rd of the damn book) but from the factory man you guys just blow. there is a 67 reproduction cobra 427 stroker at classicsinc.com's shop in savage minnesota right now that has 668hp and over 700lbft of torque..that would be the best shot ford has. (reproduction is when shelby saw how much the old "real" shelby cars were going for and he "Found" some old chassis in his garage and shop anb built and signed new ones)

i think even if they weighd the same it would come down to gearing and shiftpoints in the ZO6 not saying the GT500 isnt quick but i think that the gearing in the ZO6 might in theory put oh half a car if they weighed the same..i well even being a chevy man am severly dissapointed ..with fords "perfomance division " seriously even the 720 hp Supersnake doesnt do 11's from factory whats up with that ..COMON FORD WE ARE GETTING BOARD OVER HERE PUT SOMEDESENT SIZE/COMPUND TIERS ON THE DAYMN THING. thanks i would loooove to see a stock mustang up a real fight agianst the vette then we'll talk otherwise moded cobras and fox bodies are then only ones from ford to be conserned about.

he is right even the old C5 ZO6 is quicker 4.0-60 12.3-12.6-1/4 and u can get those fro oh 20-30k depnding on sape and whos selling it
