the turbo has to be mounted that way because the exhaust side of the motor is by the firewall not by the radiator support.

and from the way the turbo is mounted, i seriously doubt the motor is 100% stock.

honestly i dont thing that was 12 psi cuz that turbo sounded pretty mean. My civic was on 18 pounds on a dyno and my turbo spool wasn't that loud. but who knows awesome rsx though

that turbo spool was so loud my speakers couldnt pick up the peak of it

o and they could probably get more out of it but they wouldnt be using pump gas they would be on like 110 ocatane or higher cause of detonation.
