i know what bbcc10 is talking about. it was on that american muscle car show where they tested all the bad ass engines from that era and all of the dyno readings were waaaayyy to high even tho they were slightly modded, so they claim.
 
maybe 520hp i would believe. not 820. 820hp is a race car. You're talking about a 9 second car. i dont recall mopar ever putting out anything faster in the quarter mile out of the factory than the viper.

Mopars need the 426 hemi or 440 six pack to get the extra weight movin! It would be a whole different story with a 426! Seen a dyno shootout of the factory high performance motors from Chevy Ford and Dodge. They all killed the numbers they were rated at factory but the 426 was the baddest. It laid down 820hp if I remember correctly. It was running 12.5:1 compression on the street! Can you say de-tunned drag motor!!
