Nice, but having a S/C come stock limits what you can do with risking having to reprogram the computer for smaller pullies or other mods to keep everything running good.

True, the Z06 Ls7 is not a good base for long term reliability if supercharged. STS makes a good reliable turbo for the LS7 which is the smart road that many Z06 drivers are being told to take for reliable cars.

The hood, and roof are carbon that's it. The new ZR1 is 110 lbs heavier than the Z06. Bob Lutz of GM performance was at the Barett Jackson Auction tonight with Jay Leno and sold the first # 001 ZR1 for a cool 1 million. Curb weight of the ZR1 from the man him self: " 3345 lbs.- Z06 3205 lbs The ZR1 will be nearly the same from 0-100 mph as the Z06 due to poor traction according to Lutz, but after that See Ya 600 bhp Viper, see ya 620 bhp Ferarri 599 GTB, and a good race for the new LP 640 Lambo. What you do is buy the LS3 vett and supercharge it and buy similar wheels, upgrade the brakes and you now have a ZR1 in terms of braking and performance for half the price. The base LS3 manual tranny is 3271 lbs. plus deleting the run flat tires inproves handleing, and acceleration. The run flats weigh 5lbs each more than good performance tires, so shave an extra 20 lbs off the curb weight without run flats.

You can vortech the z06 if you would like. That would be a sweet ride no doubt. The bad news about that is with the 427 being a small block with cylinder liners so thin, boosting the ls7 is a receipe for destruction over a small period of time. That's why GM didn't use that motor.
