the monte weights 3550lbs and the new mustang gts weight 3500about with nearly the same power making them close from a roll and a lot of people can't lanch a car well on the road so yes a ls4 monte can take them. And yes it is fwd which sucks but is better in bad weather.Don't worry the camaro comes next year and will be packing all the needed power to leave behind the competition.

The HP numbers are incorrect. The numbers you stated are crank HP, not wheel HP.
303 crank HP for the LS4 in the 06+ Monte and Impalas.
They're not that bad at all for a FWD daily driver. Fun is fun, no matter where the power is coming from (front or rear).
I personally prefer RWD, but I'm still very happy with my FWD 3800 V6. At near 450 crank HP, I surprise just about every car that I see on the road. Sleepers are fun.

simple forget magazine numbers.... at the track..
05 and up Mustang GT: 13.5/13.7 AVERAGE BONE STOCK
06 and up Monte Carlo crap: 14.0/14.2 AVERAGE BONE STOCK
Now how can you pull a car that is lighter and RWD.
You must dream alot

this goes to 148596.... dude R u for real? first of all on your little list of kills..... NOT one of those cars belong on it... The monte carlo ad Impala are jokes. You don't put a v8 in a car and have it fwd. THEY ARE NOT SLEEPERS or FAST... It's your everyday grocery getter with a little pep. NEW mustang GT hahahahahaha older mustangs???? LS1!!!!!!! HAHA you gotta be smoking crack. My car got beat by an ls1's when stock by a half a car. and my car was 13.3 STOCK! I would have pull bus lengths on you stock from the launch alone and your fwd 303 hp v8 would NEVER catch me.
Chevy should bring back the real v8 monsters..... Get these slugs off the streets and to the nearest grocery store where they belong

i hate when people underestimate.we recentlly just purchased a 06 impala ss.same engine and basically same car just a bit heavier.hell yeah there quick it's a chevy small block.303 horses.and yeah t/c does suck alot and shut off whell spin at the line.ive put cobalts, the new mustang gt,older mustangs, even ls1 camaros and trans am's.trust me you think there slow like everyone else who pulls up at the line till they get pulled 2-3 cars and i don't even launch.have even beat the 06 charger r/t from a roll and off the line and those suck 2.there to heavy.

Okay i have driven the 2006 monte carlo it is my cousin's car and everything that 422747 is saying is not 100% true it is 1,000,000 % true.
my cousin and I have beating the a few 2006 mustang GT's off the line the GT would get the new 06 monte carlo SS but after about 25 to 30 maybe even 35 the monte carlo would start to kill the GT and that is a bone stock not even a air filter done to the car if you dont beleive me check out the HP of the new monte carlo and the HP of the GT
Monte carlo = 303 FWHP
Mustang GT = 300 RWHP
and any car nut know's if it is 30 degree's your car is ganna pull just a little more harder then in 45 to 50 degree's
so 422747 what ever your real name is dude all i gotta say is do what you gotta do and add it to street fire

I left TC on because It sometimes helps to keep wheel spin under control w/o cutting engine power,But this time too much wheel spin even for TC.And because of it being about 30 degrees out and the car is FWD I started at 1/2 throttle and and eased the throttle in but even that was too much.So i'm going to upgrade the tires and maybe put air bags on the rear to raise up the rear to keep weight on the front tires. But the car is just a relieable every day driver.

Great, but turn off trac control and feather the throttle, then you'll be game for business
