yes the camaro by the numbers is a little faster, but not by much.So yes if the max got a better jump it would win as you can see.camero numbers are 5.4 0-60, 13.9 1/4 at 103.6 mph mile.Maxima numbers are 6.0 0-60, 14.3 1/4 mile at 95.4 mph and yes this is only the 02 and 03 maxima. Just remember when the numbers are this close its all about the jump.

I just purchased a 98 formula ls1 6spd. I also own a heavily modded 9c1 caprice w/ 5.7 lt1. The caprice is easily putting over 290 rwhp and I just ran a 14.3 e.t. at new england drag in oct. w/ it. I just lined up against the 9c1 yesterday with my brother driving it and it was just a SLAUGHTER! I've raced maximas with the 9c1 and I've never been beaten by more than 1/2 car. The formula on the other hand, pulled almost 2 cars on the 9c1 right outta the hole. I'm sorry, but there is NO WAY that a GOOD DRIVER in an LS1 would ever lose to a maxima. With that said, this guy may not have been a good driver. You guys need to remember that the car only accounts for 50% of the win.

Just do a rematch for God's sake. I want to see engines shots and better audio. My friend has a 2000 Firebird LS1 (Stock with auto) and we raced a 3.5 stick Altima.. he got us about half a car length out of the hole but that was all. By the time we let off by 100 we were 5+ car lengths ahead and still pulling.

EVEN THOUGH MAXIMAS ARE FAST, I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT THEY COULD BEAT A LS1. BUT WHAT EVER LS1 LOST. FOR A SECOND I THOUGHT THAT THE CHICK WAS DRIVING AND THAT COULD BE THE REASON WHY THE LS1 WAS SO SLOW. THE LS1 WAS NOT GIVING ITS ALL BECAUSE IF THE MAXIMA WAS THAT MUCH FASTER IN THE TAKE OFF IT WOULD OF KEPT ON LEAVING IT BEHIND BUT THE LS1 COUGHT UP TO IT. AND U CAN ALSO HEAR THE LS1 NOT PUSHING IT

I ran a 14.1 and 14.0 with a intake in my 02 max, I have the 6-speed but not the HLSD which was avaliable on a limited number of 6-speeds. Most people don;t realize that the maxima's weight also runs under 3200lbs which is light for the size of car that it is.

Maxes ARE pretty quick stock, with mid 14's being the norm, but the camaro def had an inexperienced driver. However, it wouldn't take too much for the max to beat or match one fairly, a few grand worth of bolt ons should do it.

I am a pround maxima owner but that vid is funny, looks like the camero started in first gear, shifted to 3rd, and at about 4k went to 5th
