Nice race, the vette is only putting down ~340-345 rwhp but its about ~650 lbs lighter.

I agree to a point, 2361dof9, and you're right... people do tend to stick to their brand... and some people will swear by them. People just have to realize that the top of the line is the top of the line... every company has top-notch engineers working for them, and anyone's top batch of cars is quite nice, not a piece of sh-t because it isn't their favorite brand of cars.

painteater19, sure I respect your opinion, but being efficient could always bring some advantages & disadvantages. For example, the vettes are prone to self distruct when driven in a rougher unsecured track b/c of its fiber glass body, while sure GT500 weighs more, but a lot robust when driven in unfamiliar rugged track. Its just a matter of preference, & some people would always stick to the brand that they're familiar w/, such as, Ford,Chevy,Dodges, etc...

also... you guys bench racing are wasting your time. Cobras are VERY nice cars... but stock for stock the vette is nicer. period. Not to mention it costs more. Now the GT500... is way too heavy for the performance people expect out of it. The mustang is going the way of the lightning. Ford d/c'd the lightning because the new f150 body style is too heavy for the performance SVT wants out of it. Same thing with the new brick of a mustang... too heavy to be fast efficiently. that being said, I wouldn't complain if I owned one, but I'd buy GM... thats my .02

DiabloSS, sure when you buy a car you are looking for quality,power etc. But you must also remember that there are different types of people or buyers, from a muscle car collector to business CEO's, etc. W/ my Ron Fellows ed. honestly,comfort & prestige are not quite their yet, but its a sports car & not a Rolls Royce! Its built for fun, but can be very expensive w/ its history, for example, the real A/C Shelby Cobra w/ no radio,no air/heater/etc. now only sold for a bargain of $5million. Like yellowcamaro85 said, "some people just like vette's" , but some people love Shelby's or Ford stangs etc..
