dv1rex.....its not back pressure that takes hp away, its the velocity of the exhaust going out the pipe that matters. too big a pipe the little velocity you got........... too small a pipe and too much velocity hence rediculous amount of back pressure. any given exhaust pulse that comes out gives help to the very next one thats on its way out following it. little to no velocity (in other peoples words, no "back pressure") would cause the gasses to stay in the pipeing longer and throw off the entire flow. fat pipeing will help for top end power with crapy low end power. and vise versa. but if you have it just right then you cant go wrong either way. its pretty complicated to understand. there is a little more to it. it took me a while to get it BUT its the truth. i am not trying to call you out, i am just looking out!
