the headers i have dont fit with the h- or x-pipes. i run 3" straight pipes with single chambered flowmasters. loud as hell..

well i was running 10 to 1 flat tops, but my heads are close chambered 52cc, cranking my compression numbers. you may have enough back pressure, they say it was a 35 hp gain to go to the h-pipe, and torue was higher, something to do with equalizing the motor. but what ever works is the trick. go for it.

the x-pipes show the biggest jump.. i run straight pipes. but i run 3" with no back presssure because of the compression on my motor i get a gain. most small blocks need that back pressure..

your losing power and torque by going with straight pipes. The h-pipe equalizes the back pressure on the motor so that both sides of the engine run equally. dyn sheets show a significant increase in torque and less in the horse power but it still an increase..
