I am responding to the post, "should this really count, i mean hasn't the whole texas speed mile been about street cars? ........."
The Texas Mile is about all of us that share in the passion of motor sports and going as fast as you can on two wheels or four wheels. It is a celebration of speed and achieving one's personal best at a "fun, safe and well organized motor sports festival". We have several classes for street cars/motorcycles, purpose built race cars/motorcycles and Land Speed Racers in which we honor all the participants and recognize those that achieve their top speeds in their respective class. Such as check out the "Boost Logic" video that is recognizing a street Supra that went 229.7 MPH.
The 257 mph speed that has been part of our logo since January 2005 is based on the top speed achieved by an LSR Lakester.
