well you guys are not taking into account the possibility that if the driver would have launched the GTO any harder, then there would have been major wheel spin and also that the evo can launch harder and at higher RPM's, it was the Evo's race...

ok man I'm not hating on you or your car, I know that Car and Driver is a respectable magazine, and I know that there are a lot of people out there that talk a lot of crap, it's just that it made me a little upset when you generalized based on your own results... the point that I was trying to make was that just because you did poorly on the track doesn't mean that everyone in the same situation with the same car would do the same, anyways keep fixing up your SRT and in no time you'll realize why you bought it :) oh by the way no matter how reputable a magazine may be... they are still not perfect and they can make errors

ok listen buddy, one thing I hate about people is that they generalize too much, for example, my friend has a V8 mustang I rape him all the time, therefore I can rape all V8 mustangs... It's true that the 03 SRT was the slowest one because it was rated at 215 hp and it was lacking the limited slip differential that the 04 and 05 had, now it's all up to the driver, I'm not saying that you don't know how to race or drive, I'm just saying that not all cars are the same, they have different gear ratios, different powerbands and different suspension etc...
I know plenty of SRT's that have gone stock into the 13.9 range, and also don't base your assumptions on magazines, because one magazine can say that the SRT ran 15 seconds at the track while another says that it ran 13.9 and if you don't want to believe it then you're being ignorant...
