Its a package. I cant even believe the ignorant, stupid comments people are leaving. The difference between a base C6, Z06, and ZR1 suspensions are the shocks. Thats it. They use different magnetic fluids inside them. They all have front and rear transverse leafspring, multilink suspensions. So yes, GM did take a vette and stick these things on it.

There are no other production cars in the same class as the ZR1. So they just grabbed some cars that people are going to compare the ZR1 to. The Viper ACR will beat the ZR1 on a circuit, sure, but not in a straight line. The ACR has a stripped down interior, the ZR1 has all the creature comforts. The ZR1 is truly in a class of its own. It offers what no other production car can for $100,000. End of story. kthnxbi

the japanese and european fanboys just refuse to accept defeat. No matter how many times they are shown the facts, they whine like little girls. Corvettes have dominated lemans since 2001. Go to the Lemans website. They have set tons of records. How many times has it been pointed out that the ZR1 ran a faster time than the GTR on the nurburgring? Yet the GTR fans still say," put them on a track and see what happens".

I need to read a book, stidevil? No thanks, Im not interested in japanese sh**boxes with turbos. I stated in my previous posts," I could be wrong...". I dont pay attention to the japanese tuner market. And if the GTR had as much horsepower as the zr1, it would STILL lose. it weighs 500 lbs more. ZR1's WILL run 10's on dragslicks and no other mods. Its going to happen. Now you will bring up the Z06 vs GTR argument and say," well Z06 has almost the same hp as the GTR and the GTR beat it". Dyno tests published in a car magazine( dont remember which) showed that there is NO WAY the GTR has 480 hp. It has as much, if not MORE hp than a Z06 at the flywheel. The Z06 has a drastically higher trap speed in the quarter mile than the GTR. Z06's with slicks beat the GTR in the 1/4.

And as for the people saying," the gtr will be easier and cheaper to build", you obviously dont know what the hell you are talking about. GM V8's are legendary. They have an ENORMOUS aftermarket following. EVERYBODY knows what an LS1 is. The Ford guys know, the japanese guys know, and even the european guys know what it is. LSX's demand respect.There are already THOUSANDS of parts available to make a ZR1 faster and handle better. Your precious little GTR however, is giving tuners a hard time( at least thats what I heard last). The PCM monitors and controls many high-tech systems on the GTR which makes "tuning" it difficult. I could be wrong about the GTR because its been out for a while now. But I know for a fact that there are already lots of options out there for ZR1 owners to make their car even faster.

For everybody saying," its not a fair comparison", take this into consideration: before the GTR was released, the corvette Z06 offered the best bang for the buck of any car out there. I lost count of how many magazines did comparison tests of the Z06 to cars that cost many times what the z06 costs. Lambo Gallardo? Porsche GT2? The gallardo is $200,000 . A new GT2 has a base cost of $190,000. Did the chevy fanboys whine like little girls that it wasnt a fair comparison? HELL NO. Now the GTR has come out and it offers equal( and in some cases better) performance than the Z06. The Z06 /GTR comparison has been done. People want to see how the ZR1 compares to the GTR now.

actually, i guess the McClaren F1 did 250mph with 650( or something like that) horsepower. Im just amazed a car the size of the M6 could go that fast with less than a 1000 hp.
