Good thing you're not stage 14, I might have won the race then ;)

FMIC, 3" turbo-back exhaust, manual boost controller, and slicks. I'm stage 0...not a big fan of the mopar stage kits.

1/8th mile is not 1000' long you idiot. Learn to read. 1/8th mile time for the cobra was 8.07 @ 89.8 and the neon was 8.50 @ 84.3

The car was built by the owner, this was his first successful track visit on this setup, should be in the 9's in the quarter mile with no problems. The turbos are capable of much more boost, but the motor can't support it at the current state.

lol, take ANY low compression motor that is built for forced induction, and take the F/I away from it, I guarantee it'll lose a ton of power every time. I like how people talk crap about a car that isn't even racing in the video, good stuff

I can attest to the cobra's shifter, it's no fun right now. He let me drive it recently, and I was even slower with shifting, it's bad. Good job keeping up with the CBR jake :)

lmao you idiot. If you would pay attention, I was driving the cobra, not the owner of the car. I had never driven it before, and was still not used to the shifter, it's not as easy to hit gears in that car as the neon is. It's honestly not as close of a race between the neon and the cobra as he said, he just thinks it is.

lol the shifting was bad because I was driving the cobra, I own the SRT, but the owner of the cobra was a little too far gone to drive, and he wanted me to race my own car lol

Intelligent, you can make fun of my car all you want, but it doesn't make you look cool.

tis my SRT in the video, it's going autocrossing tomorrow. Is that against the rules or something?

So drivetrain loss is a myth when it concerns torque? In my days I've NEVER heard anyone claim that you hardly lose any torque in the drivetrain.

I hate to be blunt here, but your flywheel torque calculation is way off. I said the SRT-4's make ~230 whp and ~250 wtq, but you translated that to 255 flywheel torque, that's only 5 ft-lbs of torque lost in the drivetrain. The numbers I gave you show the torque from the long stroke. I know a stroker motor should make more torque, which I obviously stated in my reply. Whatever you did with your math, it was off. My statement stands that ~230 whp/250 wtq is a fairly average stock SRT-4 dyno.

Yes, a stock SRT-4 should lose to a stock evo 9, I'm not here to argue stock vs stock, I am only here to show that with my mods, and with his mods + bad driver mod, I proved that he didn't run a 12.7 @ 110. Take it for what it is.

Just FYI, the SRT's put down right at 230 whp/250 wtq...and mine should be somewhere in the 260-270 whp range. His is probably close to 250 whp, but AWD drivetrain loss, less power, and more weight killed him from a roll, and his bad launches killed him from a dig.

THANK YOU! lol, finally someone realized the point of this video. The only real reason we raced was because he claimed a time that he didn't run.

PhantomGTO, you're cool in my book.

2MivecEVOIX, thats cool that you love the evo so much, but you should try expanding your horizons a little, the evo isn't God's gift to cars, though it is a cool car, among many others.

Don't start the "it's not a neon" argument...it IS a neon.

2MivecEVOIX, not to bust your bubble or anything, but you're saying an Evo IX with a tune alone is going to beat a stage 3 neon from a roll? I have to say that a tuned Evo IX does make good power, no doubt, but beating a ~116 mph neon from a roll with just a tune is not going to happen unless you raced one heck of a bad driver.

The SRT-4 weighs in at around 2,950 pounds, not heavy in comparison to either of the other cars in the video.

I'm the driver in the Neon, it's not completely stock, it has a 3" turbo-back, boost controller (17 psi instead of the stock 15 psi spike), and a bigger front mount intercooler. The evo has a 3" turbo-back, and that's it.

These races were to prove that the evo did not run a 12.7 @ 110 like the owner claimed. I've raced that cobra many times, the outcome is always the same, he pulls me. He has a 2.73 upper pulley, a lot of exhaust work (not positive on how much), nitto 555r's, a shifter, and intake. He dynoed right at around 450 hp/470 tq at the wheels.

this wasn't meant to start an evo vs neon battle, just wanted to show that the driver in this evo didn't pull a 12.7 @ 110 like he claimed, as I've only gone a 13.4 @ 105.
