AWD vs FWD from a roll....FWD>>>AWD any day. I own a 98 GSX and make just over 323awhp and lemme tell ya that from a roll buddy of mine has a 2000 SI k20 swap with the Greddy turbo kit tuned at 8psi and I don't pull on him at all. Actually he pulls about 1/2 length and it stays there until about 160 then I pull and THEN the road ends :(. From a dig...no contest I eat him up everytime. Props, thumbs up and all that fun stuff to you keep it up, the K20 is an awesome platform to work on.

Holy crap guys, come on now. Give him at least some props. He DOES have the video proof of his accomplishments. Who cares if its a base of type-s. He plain out beat it. As fot the GST, well that's another story, the GST has more TQ and HP than the Tc and hit it at a lower RPM. IMHO I'm sure the Tc has more mods/tuning than he lets on but hey without him saying it does we're left to think he has an almost stock Tc.

DrDrift: IMHO the smartest thing and easiest to make nice power numbers is this: http://www.ststurbo.com/uni I've done it to a Tc before (granted we built the engine for higher boost) but it made 310whp without beaking a sweat. 437whp after we upgraded the turbo :) If it truly was a GST the kid just doesn't know how to launch properly I mean, kudos to you and all but driver is a definite factor there!!

Ok, I give props to the Scion. It held its own...now, honestly what's done to it? Being an eclipse owner myself, ok maybe modded and tuned but a stock GST should have eaten you alive unless the driver had NO idea at all how to drive it. The eclipse sits at 210hp/214tq and the scion at 161hp/162tq. And just to clear it up, the eclipse hits 210hp @ 5500 and 214tq @ 3000 where the scion hits 161hp @ 6000 and 162tq @ 4000. Add the FMIC and Exhaust and the eclipse sees an easy 235-240hp. Intake????? What can a GST do to intake other than changing the manifold itself? And if that's the case then we can safely put it at 260+hp. Are you sure it wasn't a gutless GS? I'd be willing to bet it was which would make more sense to see your Tc's 161hp overtake the gutless GS' 140.
Not knocking you down or anything just wonering is all:) I've built a Tc to 443whp so the potential is there and sleeper...oh yes it can be.

Well, this argument, because lets call it what it is, made me smile :)))
This is my 2 cents:
1. The kind of car you drive is a personal preference. PERIOD. Money, looks, potential, you decided what to buy. PERIOD.
2. DSM better than Honda's? I own a built 98 GSX and love it. It was the car I WANTED. I walk over most cars around here at the exception of the lone 91 Hatch . 500+ ponies streetable car. Am I better than all of them? NO. I just spent the time to properly build my car. PERIOD. The hatch owner did too :))
3. I also own a 96 Cavalier that I built. Custom Turbo kit using the EVO3 turbo. From a roll it gives my GSX a good run. From a dig, no chance on the FWD.
So in conclusion:
Give me $5000 I'll build a fast Honda Give me $5000 I'll build a fast DSM Give me $5000 I'll build a fast Chevette
It's all a personal preference...give the Honda guys Kudos for doing what they've been doing for YEARS. But don't forget us hardcore DSMers that might spend less money but definitely more time building our cars to be reliable, streetable machines.

gaygaygay. Get your facts straight. It's an EVO3 turbo upgrade or a Lancer Evolution Motor. There's no such beast as the Talon EVO3 motor..People like you make other DSMer's like me look bad. Because of you now we all have to suffer. And of course if its a 240 it MUST be an sr20. Proof before speaking please.
