According to whats been published so far Nissan has stated their performance bogy is "always the reigning 911 Turbo" with weight being "less than a comparable RWD G35". i agree that the Z06 is likely beyond their performance target, but price-wise the car as always been priced within range of a base 911 or fully optioned M3.
I'm curious to see what weight saving measures they take to get weight to their target, but more importantly I'm anxious to see how those electric-motor assist turbos perform to remove lag... Also there is a strong rumor that they will offer the car with a "seamless shift" tranny (similar to a CVT) but without any belts....That might be cool.

If I were a bench racing man, I'll bet you performance will be 997 911 Turbo and Price will be Corvette Z06.

Shweet, Great to see the car hauling butt around the track like that. Bet you Nissan is testing their car against that 997 Turbo. If they can beat that, then we have quite a beastie on our hands.

Oh, and to clarify, right now our direct paying sponsors can be found at the bottom of the page. 99% of our money comes from Ad networks like Google and Tribal Fusion, and some shops give us advertising via those third parties. when all is said and done though this site is *VERY* expensive to run. To put things in perspective we're doing 10% the traffic of YouTube and they had to get $20 million in Funding from a VC to keep the company afloat. It's my hope that we can move off of ad networks and develop more direct relationships with companies in our own hobby, you know, keep the money in the community. Car lovers watch Car videos and and by car parts from car tuners, why not have those car parts and tuners support our car community right? ;-)

We get a lot of shops that upload videos as promotions for their company, and honestly we try to encourage this so long as its good content. Everyone benefits, viewers get good content, the shops get good exposure. This shop is not a paying sponsor, I highlighted them because I liked the video. Eibach is a paying sponsor and supporting our community, but if you notice when I make a blog post about that I am sure to quantify they are paying us. Same with the "Sponsored Video" space to the right of the video. Those are folks paying to get their video exposure. We're trying hard to both let the community drive the traffic, but also be clear when we're promoting something because we're getting paid.

On a personal note I just want to say Art and his son Craig were a pleasure to meet and it's no wonder why they are so loved by car guys everywhere.
PS, that red shoe box behind Art's head in the picture above out-slalomed a C6 Corvette on the Motor Trend test track with one of their frames, I can't imagine how well their car will perform when they actually do a Corvette! On a related note, they are doing another classic Hot Rod, but this time with Drivetrain and suspension parts from a Ferrari F360 Modena, I can't wait to see the results from that one!!!!

Honestly guys I can't believe you all are bench racing a car that hasn't made it off the auto-show podium with a car that hasn't made it off the design board yet. Both cars will be great, but at this time the next Camaro's performance potential is a giant question mark. As a big Camaro-Fan myself I would be surprised if GM answers the GT500KR with a Camaro at all, more likely, they will answer with the Corvette.

while cool in theory, I don't really think it would be a "Civic" anymore if you go past the 4cylinder/FWD formula. personally I think all the worlds problems are solved with a good dose of RWD V8, but then again different cars for different niches, right?

How is it the S2K's fault? He was doing a rather typical inside line pass? Had the Porsche stayed on it's line rather than over-steering across the track I don't think it would have happened?

We had a lot of fun shooting this, touring the factory and meeting the team that makes the springs. It's good to see the people that work for these companies are enthusiasts too!
