Oh,& yes it will last a lifetime for me, not only I preserved the stock 5.4 engine, but I have a set of built 5.4 engines awaiting to be broken in, only for fun......Oh, mine is an 01 & Rob's L was a 00 & both are looking mint,& even better than a showroom condition, so maybe not a ford that will last Lifetime after all! If wreck it, maybe?

69Chevelle454,if you're in doubt go check w/ my friend list 683482/Rob, he has a built 5.4 long block from JDM that makes 780 rwhp & capable of 9.74 in 1/4 run also to up the ante a bit check out Johnny Lightning Performance.com for an 8.49 sec Turbo built 5.4 SOHC block. All I was saying in regards to the stock 5.4 SOHC motor is that, yes it can easily be set into 385 rwhp/489 tq. w/ those basic bolt-ons that I mentioned, but you can further modify it safely up to 450rwhp/625tq. and of coure u are correct, this would not be a close to stock set-up, or plain "stock" to make you happy..

This L only has some basic bolt-ons into it, such as, air filter swap, maybe a diablo sport programmer, a lower pulley swap maybe either 4 or 6 lbs & dyno tuned. Usually ~ 385/489 rwhp/tq & to make it more dependable/reliable,its always good to install an idler to eliminate it from slipping also oil separator, & boost T fitting,or bypass & you got a safe conservative close to stock set-up & a good mid to high 12 sec. 1/4 mile truck. Also the 5.4 SOHC stock is good up to 450rwhp, but you can always keep the stock engine and swap it w/ a built 5.4 Ford GT block, or a built long block 5.4 from JLP or JDM/LFP along w/ the KB or Whipple,+ more cooling aftermarket for reliability and just for fun you got a 9 sec.1/4 mile Lightning that will last you a lifetime.

Oh, and talking about who needs to keep up? The new Ballard design Iconic GTR Roadster (similar to the A.C. Cobra body) has a new 420 cu in. Ford Engine that makes 800hp/660TQ. and also that's w/out the Supercharger and way less compared to the Veyron. Also just for your info, your new Chevy supercar also known as the Anteros(based on the Z06 performance) has the Ford F650 chassis in it, so I guess that makes you a proud"Built Ford Tough Chevy guy" :)

rehseiswhtuwsl, ever heard of Evolution Performance? Before the birth of 760hp KR (option), the GT500 barely modded cars are capable of low 9sec. run in the 1/4. You need to do some homework on how easy you can gain huge hp on this cars and pls. don't compare that to your beloved Z06 b/c that makes you sound so envy...

You have to learn how to handle it like a man, or you could always update the suspension w/ Roush, Saleen, & Ford Racing parts to suit your driving style.

Not really once you get used to it, but its tale end happy sometimes, and so best thing to do to make things quite easier is to update the suspension and of course newer tires the better. Its like anything, the more practice you get the easier you will perform.

To further enhance our understanding w/ racing history, I'll give U another example. For instance, compare the regular Z06 to the Ron Fellows version of the Z06 corvette! Yeah, a corvette is a corvette etc., but each has a different level category same w/ BMW,Benz,Audi,Honda&Toyota :) etc,etc...

I believe its only about 600 of them made, maybe less. This is the version of the Boss 302 similar w/ Galpin 302, but Galpin 302 is making a bit more= ~650hp w/out the supergarger too. And I agree w/ (980Snakes) this is not a practical version for the regular public & its funny when people mix it up w/ just a regular v8 mustang. The Mustang has the longest history in racing w/ comparison to the rest of the manufacturers, so Parnelli Jones & Steve Saleen earned their Legendary reputation through these cars, you're buying the NAME like Shelby etc. It may sound silly b/c yeah its still a mustang, but if you're educated w/ its History, then its a totally different story. Oh, & the name itself cost a lot, if you know the hp & price differences b/w Parnelli/Saleen vs. Galpin

2quikk, I understand the less value concept, but this particular piece is absolutely different from the regular v8, this is a 5.0 non supercharged & fabricated by Parnelli & Steve Saleen w/c makes it special, though its a bit conservative w/ hp,but very limited ed #'s available..also easy to upgrade hp spec. if you go another rt., or just special order your spec w/ Parnelli & Steve itself.
