Yes it is quite fast, al the way from 1000rpm and to the redline, :)
i think 1.6l doch vtec is a perfect engine, it r uns fast and cheap!
Not like those am.cars with a volume over 5l, s hitty cars and sucks fuel like the owners grandmom :S
