For anyone interested: Stock Mustang GT Stats - approx. 250rwhp. on a stock 06' GT w/ automatic transmission. 280rwhp. on a stock 06' GT w/ manual transmission. The manual has you beat in horse power, but the automatic has the manual beat in speed and quickness. Eventhough the auto. has less hp, it still has the same 0-60mph. and 1/4mi. times as a manual with +30 hp. give or take a couple mph. If you want a fast car off the line, the auto. is the better choice. The new 5spd. auto. with a stall convirter, 4:10's, long tubes, CAI, and pullyes will hang with a stock 03-04 svt terminator! Yea, the manual is a blast to drive, but it will never run the 1/8th and 1/4 mile as good as the auto. Also, a word of advice. When accelerating with the pedal to the floor NEVER let off the gas suddenly! If you do you will end up sideways. Just the nature of the beast. Found out the hard way today and almost lost my car :o Throttle jolts open at around 3,000rpm. Crazy stock tune :(

One 06' GT owner to another. A stock Auto. GT will not spin through 1st and 2nd. I tried. Another thing, it is almost impossible to get it to spin in 1st without building some RPMs first. Also, a stock GT with 17" rims have a 8" wide rim and the optional 18" rims are 8.5" wide. Don't get me wrong, the new mustangs are fast! Just the factory tune and throttle setups suck. My advice, get a tune and 4:10 gears for that auto. then you will spin to 2nd but not through 2nd. If your looking to spin through 2nd, go with a pro charger set up at 10psi. and a line locker. 469rwhp will spin those tires all day and with the line locker, you can burn rubber without hurting your breaks and driveline componets. Thats my future plan when I save a few bucks.
