ElectricEVO, it's nice to see that someone tunes for, let alone knows about midrange torque, and the shape of a torque curve on this site. If someon e tells me a peak horsepower number, I just say "Well that's nice, bu t what's your peak torque number, where is it, and what's the curve look l ike?" Torque is what moves a vehicle, no matter what speed you're go ing. Horsepower is just (torque * rpm) / 5252. It's a function of torque , and people don't realize that. It's a shame. While horsepower can tell you some things, it's useless when just listed as a peak number, and that 's all people go on. All one really needs is a dyno sheet of the torque o utput. From that, you tell large amounts of how the car is going to accel erate. If for some reason you really need to know horepower, just look at the graph and plug the numbers in.
