also, you need to vent out those blow by gases. The gases cant stay in your crankcase because they cause bearing damage. So keep letting it vent out breather.

blow by is when the clearence between the piston rings and cylinder wall get to big. Oil from teh crank and pan is going up past the rings and burning in the combustion chamber. Also, the smoke from the burning gas and oil leaks back into the crank case causing the smoke to come out of the breathers. If you smell it, it should smell like exhuast. You need to get a ring job. Bore and hone out the cylinders and put new rings and if you bore it, you need new pistons. You will continue to lose compression. I know about blow by cause i natually have blow by since my engine has loose rings.

what is that thing your looking at then your tuning the carbs? my friend is trying to tune 2 carbs on his blown sbc but its hard to do.

ya the comptuer, thats the problem. probley choke isnt on or you got a vacume leak. themostat does not matter at all. I have run 160 and 180 in my 327 and the both take about the same amount of time to warm up.
