Although the G35 is a nice car don't get me wrong you get what you pay for and that's the bottom line. You want all the frills in a sports car but not spend 50-60K on it. Then the 350/G35/G37 whatever is a good deal. If you want speed and a light car that's easy to mod then. That's why they gave the award of fastest car for the money that you could buy new when it was first out. Dodge makes the viper. That same team designed the srt-4 along with the others. Do you really think they would put out something that is just a ball of crap? Think about what the fastest cars of it's time were....they almost all had a Hemi's. Dodges SRT lineup is the new version of what they used to do with the cars of the olden days. They are two totally different cars although they seemed to get matched up quiet often on this forum. Most guys I talk to that own 350/G35 are pretty cool. Yeah they have some snobs but so does every other group.

Let's see 4 door 4 seater with a trunk and a 4 cyl turbo versus a luxury coupe/350Z with badges basically and luxury items added to it. Your right they aren't in the same class although you would think spending that much money on what is considered a sports car no matter how you look at it you would want it to at least be able to beat the "neon" I mean that's my opinion take it for what it's worth.

your cousins is wrong on that one sorry. "Maximum boost in stock form was around 14 lbf/in² (97 kPa). The stock turbine forces a rev limiter setting of 6240 RPM, although actual engine redline occurs at 6500 RPM."

Notice his operating temps on his speedo. I can bet the computer was pulling timing if his temps were that high. In cooler conditions I could see him getting a higher top speed. I'm pretty sure unless it was a 2003 that the rev limit/fuel cut is at 6200 rpms. Stage 2 increases that to 6500 rpms because they add big injectors.

Did anyone notice the driver saying "god almighty that truck will fly"? Also wheres your videos I went looking for them but I couldn't seem to find any?

Don't you have an integra or something to race?

b85919e1 Re read his post. I think " this is where aerodynamics would come into play. A neon doesn't have that." Is pretty much saying it's not aerodynamic.

It even had the stock wing. Which incidentally actually does produce down force above 80mph.

A fox body mustang with a stock 225 hp and 285 lbft of torque and weighs only a little bit more than the srt couldn't go 152mph with a 2.73 final drive. The SRT comes with a 3.31 final drive. Again please explain how a car shaped like a bubble doesn't have aerodynamics. Look at the cars that are designed to go the fastest (top speed) They are all round shaped and have smooth body panels. Look at the EVO it has sharp edges on it's body design. Look at the STI a little more aerodynamics looking. Mustangs have pretty much a flat front end. Camaros have a pointed front end with a good slope (probably one of the best front ends for aerodynamics). After writing this I can't even think of many cars with a front end shaped as well as the SRT most have a flat front end.

Also my car had the stock 2.73's to do that.

Please explain how a planet record holding car doesn't have aerodynamics?

The rules require the body and interior and suspension to be in stock form. The motor however has no requirements I believe as long as it's on gas. 700+whp was required to get there.

Will do.

Seed rated? It comes with ZR tires stock.

Ummm... we werent talking about 1/4 here buddy. "No, it’s not some exotic niche supercar but a humble Dodge that holds the record for the “The Fastest Four Cylinder Production Car On The Planet.” The car was run by Salt Lake City’s Jorgen Moller, who pushed the heavily modified Dodge SRT-4 to a top speed of 222.416mph (357.934km/h). However for the official record the lesser figure of 221mph (355.66 km/) was used because the average of the two best runs are used in such records."

I went 140 in my nearly stock 1990 mustang. That was pretty much maxed out. It was a lx hatch.
