Actually RipperXX, cars are heavier then most ppl think. Your new C6 weights an average of 3200-3300lbs. Your average F-body Camaro/Trans Am weights between 3400-3800lbs depending on the package. Challenger weights about 4100lbs, close to what the original Charger made back in the 60's and 70's. The 70 Challenger weight was about 3700lbs depending on the package and setup. But you can also order the Challenger with the drag racing package and shave off a 1000lbs making it weigh less then the Corvette. You want all that fancy stuff in your car, you pay the price....weight.

Eatshit101.....the Viper ACR is faster then the ZR1 and about the same price. Not sure what your talking about. Juice105 this battle has been around since drag racing first started back in the 30's GM and Mopar have always had a friendly rivaly (the man started Chrysler, Mr. Chrysler was the former CEO of GM and the same man who designed the 68-70 Charger once worked for GM and vice versa. And the man who designed the Oval Port heads for the 396-454 also designed the Hemi heads). But Mopar and GM have a bitter rivalery with Ford.

Heres how the facts play out......currently and until they road test it and prove it Ford has nothing at the moment that will be a ZR1 and currently GM has nothing that will beat the 09 Viper ACR. Thats the facts going by specs and current production products and track tests, talk all you want but until you have proof it means nothing with out the facts to back it up.

Well not to get into the middle of this never ending debate. But I was a ASE Tech for a Ford dealership and drove and worked on every single Ford made, Including the GT, Shelby, Roush, Saleen. The Shelby GT500 wasnt bad but my friends bolt on Trans Am can easly beat it (its very heavy and it does lose a lot of grip). Shelby, Roush, Saleen, are all there own companies. Yes you can buy them with a waranty but thats no different then what Yenko/Hurst did with the GM's and Mopar back in the 60's and 70's. And I wont compare a ZR1 to a Mustang its just so far above it in every way its not a fair comparison. I will compare a ZR1 to a Viper ACR or any other SuperCar. I will compare a Mustang to any other car like it such as the F-body Gm's and the new Challenger. The mustang for the price, including the Roush, Saleen, Shelby is not worth it when compared to the F-bodies. And the Challenger I just love so Ive gotta vote for that one too.

Super350z, the Top of the line camaro from the factory is gonna be the SS with a 6.0 LS2 or LS3 (most likely the latter of the two). The RS is going to be a V6 and the Z28 is gonna be a beefed up V6 is I remember correctly.

As a Mopar guy and Chevy owner, I completely agree with NastySS. Ford has always come behind Mopar and GM when it comes down to sports cars and old muscle cars, and the way the perform.

1Qwik94z Given that its a real ACR it would be a 98-99 I believe. And yes a BPU Supra can make up to 430 to the rear wheels but I was giving it the benifit of the doubt and hope it didnt lose to a stock ACR Viper. And Qwik is right, at that speed the TQ would not have helped it push thru.

Actually you are wrong Wojo69827, a BPU Supra gets 460hp to the crank, the 98-99 Viper ACR makes 460hp to the crank.

If it was the 426 Hemi Hurst took and used on the S/S like ChevySilverado said then 820 is not out of the ballpark. Hemi's were well known to be insane especially when put in lighter cars. But either way the 426 Hemi is just a crazy engine and always produced more then any other engine of its time wich is why Hemi's are still used in drag racing especially in TopFuel cars with 8000 estimated horsepower.

Geez! 426 Hemi 820hp!! Im a Mopar guy at heart but man never thought it would make that much from the factory.
