not to mention that the porsche driver was a douche and tried to go in reverse at first...

we had it up on a jack, and because it's a swing axle, the back wheels get a funny looking camber until it rolls about 10 feet, then it levels out.
yup. actually, it's a stock exhaust, the whole engine is stock. it hold's a land speed record in the 36hp stone stock class, hence the reason why it's stock.

too bad that's not an sti...

i disagree, the 1.8t's are bad ass, and the car is much better than ppl give them credit for. my GF has one and it rocks.

it's obviously a t1, but it's even more apparent that you have no d*mn clue wtf you're talking about anyway.

i'll agree with 5thgearpinned, a solid type one flat four would do just as well if not better, and be alot more usable. i'd about say my 2110 turbo would spank it, but what do i know? 0-100 in 8 seconds is pretty good if you ask me.

holding it at 3500 in a turbo vw= massive wheels spin unless you have no more than a 6 lb. flywheel which is really uncommon. i can't hold at more than 3000 with my NA car without alot. i'm clickin off a 10 sec 1/8, but when i turbo'mine i'm lookin at mid 7's. what displacment is that car?
actually, 24-36 hp motors were 1200cc
they are aircooled, however there is no cooling ie:fan or ducting. it's a drag car dude.
in europe they did use 1300's up into the 1970s, however i think he's referring to the car model # not the engine displacement.

$10k for a built engine is cheap, look around and you'll find that a truely built chevy engine will run you around 18-26k.
in your dreams. i've got street daily driven beetles that wax mustangs all day, and before you say it, yes, mustangs CAN be fast, but this one isn't. idiot.
why use a porsche engine? everyone know's you can make gobs more power out of a beetle type 1 engine. dork.
wtf, are you on crack? positrac? REAR-END? it's a freakin transaxle. he probably has a quaife, but atleast get your terminology right, reject.
got new's for ya, obviously a type 1 beetle engine.
first off, an engine swap is more than obvious, but it wasn't for a porsche engine. everyone in the VW industry knows you aren't jack unless your still running an AC vw pp. my guess would be autocraft 3 piece case with a minimum 82 crank, 94 pistons, trick heads, and a t4. and yes, I know wtf i'm talking about, and to Shadow death, i think the best time now is a 8.77.
ok, put a 450-500hp engine in that weights about 600lbs, or leave the factory style powerplant in that makes in this case about 350hp and cut off about 350lbs. lemme think....
