Agreed, The 1989 20th TA was a great car in it's day. Those that enjoy turbo charged performance tuning have the Grand National to thank for forging the way. As for 20th TA vs. VR4, the VR4 had more power and AWD, but the 20th TA was lighter. Modified there was no contest, the Grand National motor was pushing cars into the 9s in the Qtr mile back when DSMs were just discovering the 12s. The DSMs and now EVOs are doing great today, but if you look at where all the turbo performance tunning tricks came from, it came from the bad black car with a sneezing 6 that put v8s to shame. Anyhow this is all a bit off topic, and back to the VR4. The VR4 (unlike the Grand National) was designed to handle as well, and it's fasinating to me that Mitsubishi threw that much technology at it and still got the car into the price range of a Corvette. And unlike the EVO today, the VR4 also had a world class interior and amenities back then too. most impressive. Damn Shame that the inflation of the Yen made cars like this and the Supra extinct.

If you use Creative Commons Music I might include it on the next StreetFire Podcast.
Here is a good site to get CC music. www.Jamendo.com

The 20th Anniversar TA is one of my favorite cars of all time, but it did not have 300hp stock, rather it had 250hp and 340 lb-ft. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, 300hp was what 400hp is today. The Corvette had a 300hp LT1, Camaros and Firebirds had 245hp, Mutangs even less. heck the Corvette L98 (250hp) was having a ahrd time keeping up with the 300hp ZX T back then. We're living ina renassaince today when you can get a 500hp Mustang or a 300hp 4-door sedan (like the BMW 335).

That was a great Video. I love the old VR-4, it was a car way ahead of it's time.... in fact I think I'm going to feature this video on the main page. Great job!

Glad your enjoying our coverage. We had a great time with it, I wish we had more resources to provide the coverage while the show was going on, but we're a pretty small team.

That was a loaner from Motorcars of Georgia. Brandon Saszi who works there is a big fan of our site and did us a huge favor of letting us use it in our booth.

when I was filming hey mentioned it would cost about $250 to apply this process to a rear end differential. The result gives 15 rwhp (or was it 25?..can't remember)...anyhow after seeing this in person heck I want to have my entire drivetrain done!

Guys, to clarify, these wheels are not designed to go on track cars, these are wheels primarily designed for style for those people with the disposable income to not really worry about the cost of removing the wheels every few weeks to maintain them. Is it excessive? yes I think it is, but seeing them in person I have to say they are very impressive, and you cannot deny the fact they really atract attention which is waht they are designed to do. Just as you wouldn't put center locking magnesium race rims on a Hummer for off road duty, you wouldn't put these rims on a race car, so it's not really fair to judge their performance. We didn't ask about weight or rim loading as that will vary based on style and fitment. Still though, very cool rim, very inovative. Not anything I would put on my M3, but if I were into the Bling scene I would take a pass on the spinners and get these for sure. BTW, I am sort of into choppers, and the motorcycle was absolutely stunning with these wheels. You really have to see it in person to believe it, but it makes the motorcycle look like it's hovering... very cool.

I had a lot of fun shooting this video. here is the funny thing though. for the shot where she is on the ground next to the wheel, I had to crouch down to get the camera low. When I did that my pants split wide open right in front of her....ACK!! So I had to waste an hour yesterday running back to the hotel room to get a new pair of jeans. I should have said something smart to her when it happened like...hey baby I'm so much of a man I can't be contained....yea I don't think I could have pulled that off either. I'm not as fast on my feet as Chris is (the guy on Camera)
