I've read (in print, not your stupid blogosphere) of the upcoming DI twin turbo V6 bring put in the mustang. Now I'm not sure if it was 2010 or 2011, but something tells me it's coming in 2010. Unfortunately I don't think there's enough room in the lineup for a V8 AND their ttV6, so we might be saying goodbye to the V8 mustang for now. Who knows, with the way the economy is going, there may be no Ford by the time the new 'Stang is supposed to come out.

I agree that you could probably do the same upgrades for much less, but then again the added price of a Shelby/Saleen/Steeda does buy you a bit of exclusivity. I think this is a good first step in the right direction (well, what I personally believe is the right direction). People have long praised the 'Vette for it's weight distribution and [near] exotic car-like dynamics, which the Shelby GT500 doesn't achieve. While I don't see a rear-mounted transmission anywhere in the Mustang's future (and therefore nor do I see a 50/50 weight split), an affordable SPORTS car will probably be much more appealing to people considering a 370Z/RX8/3-series, along with the typical Ford base. Just a thought.

How does this thing handle at 230? Obviously the salt flats aren't anything like asphalt, but I'm just curious since it wasn't designed to go those speeds.

1 on the turbo. After hearing that Terlingua, I'd say it's the 3rd best V6 I've ever heard. Trailing only the 2JZ and RB26 (both having iconic and utterly unique sounds). Sounds WAY better than any 350Z or any other V6 I've ever heard. Good episode, I want to see the car some more!

I drove one of these from NJ to NC with 3 other people in the car and a TON of luggage. One of the best rides I've ever had and some MAJOR merging ability!
